Litecoin: what it is and why I think it’s a great project
All About litecoin:
Litecoin is a crypto currency made by a former Google employe named Charlie Lee. it was released in 2011.
The project was created to complement bitcoin, or in other words Litecoin is “the silver to Bitcoin's gold” as many are saying.
You can mine litecoin. Each block mined rewards miners with 25 litecoins.
What litecoin does:
Besides complementing bitcoin, bitcoin was created to as a decentralized coin to make transactions and send money around the world with transaction fees lower than 10 cents.
Other facts:
There will only ever be 84 millioun litecoin.
Mathematics secure the blockchain.
Wallets are encrypted, or coded to protect wallet from viruses.
What I think:
I think litecoin is a good project. I think that peer to peer trading is cool and a great way to cut out the middle man.
